The classmates article I chose to blog over was Audri Ramos', and she wrote over the discussion regarding the NFL kneeling and how some viewed it as disrespectful. The article, "What do veterans think about kneeling during the anthem? Views are diverse" was written in regards to how President Trump is disappointed with the players actions. The author of the article, Jake Lowery, does not agree with Trumps opinions. Lowery quotes Trump stating "get that son of a b**ch off the field right now" and the author believes that Trump's protest was blown way out of proportion as my classmate states. The whole article summarizes the differences between many different opinions on this situation, most agree with the kneeling and some are against it and find it disgraceful.
My peer who wrote this blog was correct on their reading from my perspective. They handled this topic well and also got their point across describing how the author is anti-Trump. If my classmate had to rethink anything, I would say that she should consider writing more about the veterans opinions on the kneeling. Overall, I agree with Audri and the author on this topic. I would also still consider this a sensitive topic to discuss since everybody has a different outlook on it.

Trump seems to only want things his way and never seems to listen to anybody else's reasons on why they kneel. Some see it disrespectful and some don't. Its their choice whether to stand or kneel. Good job explaining what the article was about and I do have to agree that this is a tuff article to right about.

ReplyDeleteTrump needs to learn when to shut his feeder and not make an already tense situation worse and cause more controversy.
